PROJECT STEWARD

A PRIVATE ESTATE · NOW LETTING

Some estates are built. This one is declared.

Walled residences on shared bedrock. Keys cut before you arrive. A steward who keeps the ledger, and changes nothing on the grounds that was not written there first.

All is kept as it is written.

§ 1 — THE GROUNDS

What every tenancy includes.

Amenities are not added later. They are written into the estate before the first wall goes up.

i.

Private grounds

No tenant hears its neighbour. Each residence has its own walls, its own wiring, its own quiet underground.

ISOLATED · OVERLAID · ONE PER LOT

ii.

Keys cut in advance

Every resident, every servant of the house, carries a key cut by the Operator — in a room with no windows.

ISSUED, NEVER IMPROVISED

iii.

The ledger

Nothing on the estate exists until it is written down. Strike it out and it is gone — in two acts, never one.

WRITTEN · REALISED · REPORTED

iv.

The steward

Carries out what the ledger says, tells you exactly what it changed, and does nothing twice. Where the grounds have drifted, it drafts an order — and waits for your seal.

NOTHING TWICE · NOTHING UNASKED

v.

Deliveries to the door

Whatever a tenant orders arrives at their own door, set up and running, and at no one else's.

ORCHESTRATED, LOT BY LOT

vi.

The night watch

Every lot sends word up to the tower; the tower never knocks on a door. And someone, elsewhere, watches the tower.

A TOWER OF ITS OWN

“The grounds will always look exactly as the ledger says. Eventually.”

— THE STEWARD

§ 2 — THE DEED

Terms of Tenancy

Six covenants. Binding on every tenant, every servant of the house, and the Steward itself.

DEED NO. estate/alpha/0/0.1.0

  1. I.What is written in the roster shall be made so.
  2. II.What is struck from it shall be undone — first marked, then removed.
  3. III.No tenant shall see, hear or touch another, save through the front gate.
  4. IV.Every key is known before the door is built.
  5. V.The bedrock is never let. It belongs to the estate.
  6. VI.Within a generation, no covenant is broken. A new one is declared instead.

GENERATION ZERO · AT GENESIS

The gates open in due course.

  1. NOW Genesis The bedrock is laid, and the estate surveyed.
  2. THEN Running The steward keeps the ledger, and the grounds agree.
  3. IF EVER NEEDED Recovery What holds its state returns as itself. The rest is raised again.

The estate is being surveyed. Its steward will arrive in due course.
